Under the direction of the Head Teacher, the Learning Support Assistant is expected to support the delivery of high quality primary education and learning which effectively meets the needs of children.
Please note that this job is not Career Graded. What this means is that a successful candidate would be employed as either a Qualified or Unqualified Learning Support Assistant. During the selection process, candidates will be assessed to determine whether they meet the person specification criteria of the qualified or unqualified Learning Support Assistant role. This would determine the salary/rate of pay, as well as what duties would be expected of the post holder during their employment. Cunningsburgh Primary School is a non-denominational school located in Cunningsburgh. It provides education from Early Years up to P7 for children from Quarff, Fladdabister and Cunningsburgh in the South Mainland of Shetland. The school is managed by a Head Teacher.
The structure of the school is an Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Dept with 4 Primary classes - P1/2, P3/4, P4/5 and P5/6/7. The current roll is 79 Primary pupils with a further 30 pupils registered in the ELC Dept.
There are 2 part-time ASN teachers assisted by support staff, as required, to meet school demands. The current Acting Head Teacher is Mrs Fiona Johnson
