A well-established and growing distribution business based in Barnsley is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team.

Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with the management of the purchase ledger function
* Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments
* Processing accounting journals and maintaining accurate financial records
* Supporting month-end close activities
* Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations
* Investigating and resolving accounting queries
* Providing general support to the wider finance team as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Previous experience within an accounting or finance position
* Knowledge of purchase ledger processes
* Experience preparing accruals, prepayments, and journals
* Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
* Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
* A positive attitude and willingness to take ownership of their workload
