Job Overview
The PCN Ltd is seeking an experienced and highly capable Finance Manager to provide strategic financial leadership, governance assurance, and high-quality financial management across the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team, the post holder will play a critical role in ensuring the PCN operates in a financially sustainable, compliant, and well-governed manner.
This is a senior role requiring significant professional judgement, autonomy, and the ability to interpret and present complex financial information to both finance and non-finance audiences, including at Board level.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the finance function, including line management of finance staff
* Produce and present monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial performance reports to the Board and Leadership Team
* Ensure the integrity of financial systems, including general ledger, balance sheet, bank reconciliations, and cash flow management
* Lead and coordinate the preparation of annual statutory accounts, liaising with external accountants and auditors
* Provide expert financial advice to Directors and senior leaders on financial performance, risk, value for money, and sustainability
* Lead budget setting, monitoring, and financial planning across services and cost centres
* Provide financial oversight of contracts, commissioned services, and business development opportunities
* Support contract negotiations, service modelling, and the development of business cases
* Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and NHS financial governance requirements
* Develop and implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures
* Drive improvements in financial reporting, systems, dashboards, and use of technology
* Contribute to organisational strategy, risk management, and governance processes
Person Specification
Essential
* CCAB qualification (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience
* Highly developed specialist knowledge of financial and management accounting
* Proven experience producing statutory accounts and working with external accountants
* Experience advising senior leaders and/or Boards on complex financial matters
* Line management experience
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively
* Advanced IT skills, including Excel and financial systems
Desirable
* Experience working within the NHS, PCN, GP Federation, or wider healthcare sector
* Knowledge of NHS financial governance, commissioning, and regulatory requirements
* Experience supporting service development, contract negotiations, and financial modelling
* Experience with Xero or similar accounting systems

Pay: £22,276.00-£25,073.00 per year
Expected hours: 15 per week
