Overview: CNC Recruitment is currently seeking a HS&E Advisor to join our client in Henstridge area - one of the largest metal fabrication company in the UK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating machinery and ensuring the efficient production of goods. Job type – Full time, permanent Location – Henstridge area Working hours: Monday to Friday, 6am – 3pm Salary: DOE Duties: · Working with a team of people dedicated to HS&E •Monitoring and reviewing both written and operational works to ensure their effectiveness, compliance, and following consultation will implement new protective and preventative measures when required by law or by the Company in achieving best practice •Liaising with colleagues to ensure a consistent approach to health and safety across all sites and satellite offices. This may require visiting all premises when required •Assisting the HS&E Manager/department to ensure that the Company remains up to date with all legislative requirements, updating relevant policies and procedures when necessary and maintaining Company compliance •Carrying out, recording, communicating and implementing workplace risk assessments and producing safe systems of work and assisting when required •Carrying out HS&E induction training for new team members and site visitors and assisting with the monitoring of existing members •Producing, developing and delivering HS&E training courses •Producing and delivering a programme of effective toolbox talks on relevant topics i.e. workplace incidents, observations, changes in work practice, legislation and training requirements •Arranging and preparing external training materials •Assisting with the implementation of training plans •Carrying out and analysing accident, incident and near miss investigations. Establishing the root causes, effective PCA’s and implementing measures for continual improvement and the reduction in incident rates •Carrying out site inspections, accurately recording observations, near misses and incidents •Liaising with the Company’s Occupational Health and preparing appointments for visits •Ensuring visitors and customers compliance of site rules, Company procedures and safe working practices •Carrying out HS&E audits as per our ISO 45001 procedures, raising the necessary reports to a suitable level and assist with the implementation of changes when required • Assisting with the preparation and be in attendance for ISO 45001 and 14001 external audits as when required • Being proactive in suggesting HS&E initiatives to improve health, safety and well-being on site with a view to reducing accident and incident rates • Being proactive in suggesting environmental initiatives to improve the environmental impact, reducing the carbon footprint, improving the sustainability and reducing incident rates • Assisting the planning, implementation and recording of all operational plant and equipment inspections and monitoring under current legislation i.e. LOLER, PUWER, working at height, confined space, gas safe and air and noise surveys etc • Assisting with the management of the contractor evaluation process, including on site management of contractors in line with legislative requirements, ISO 45001 and best practice • Carrying out site inspections to ensure compliance with legislation, management systems and the Company’s procedures and safe systems of work • Liaising with the Company’s insurance company when required • Liaising with the HSE and local authorities when required • Carrying out any other ad hoc duties to enable the effective running of the department • Communicating effectively with all employees to achieve active engagement in HS&E matters • Attending all training courses as and when required • Actively engaging in the identification of risks within the workplace and the subsequent assessment development of suitable safe systems of work. When necessary, intervening to prevent breaches of health and safety and/or report as necessary • Following the requirements of the Company Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures to help achieve a quality product for the customer and reduce the non-conformances • Following the requirements of the Company Environmental Management System to assist the Company’s objective to reduce the detrimental effect on the environment by way of waste management and any other areas to improve the environmental impact • Collecting and documenting data from internal and external sources that relate to the company’s carbon emissions Requirements Required: NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent Beneficial: NEBOSH diploma or equivalent and IEMA Benefits INDBLUE
