Closing Date 2025-12-14 Job Title: HSS Project Manager Location: 1-2 days onsite or at Durrington/ F almer offices, 3 days WFH Contract Type: 12 months FTC (with the view to extend) Hours: 37 Salary: £ 50,000 per annum Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to drive delivery within the Protective Security Transformation Programme (PSTP), the Safe and Well Everyday (S&WED) Programme, and wider Business as Usual changes across the Health Safety and Security directorate. You’ll take ownership of projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring they meet governance standards, are delivered on time, and achieve the highest quality outcomes. Working closely with stakeholders across Digital, Procurement, Learning & Development, Facilities, and Operational teams, you’ll define requirements, create project plans, track budgets and schedules, manage risks, and report progress at Executive level. This is a role with loads of exposure, particularly to digital transformation, and the chance to work in a fast-paced environment where people genuinely care and collaborate. Key accountabilities include: - Design and produce project plans to develop concepts into actionable schedules - Developing project schedules and cost profiles, with routine monitoring of budgets. - Managing project development and delivery using portfolio management tools. - Leading project steering groups and embedding robust governance processes. - Holding stakeholders accountable against agreed timelines. - Identifying and mitigating risks and issues with clear ownership. - Producing project reports (RADIO and PCT) to inform senior decision-making. - Delivering plans in areas such as supply chain security, digital permitting, safety competencies, emergency communications, and training deployment. About You You are a confident and capable Project Management professional with a proven track record of delivering transformation projects, ideally across several projects in three or four different companies. You bring experience in communications, training, or procurement projects, and can operate at both the strategic and delivery levels: theory, project design, problem analysis, and execution. We’re looking for someone who brings: - Essential qualifications: Prince2 or APMP, plus a full UK driving licence. - Highly desirable experience: delivering projects in regulated industries, digital change, security transformation, or within utilities such as water. - Desirable extras: training project delivery experience, MSP or Management of Risk qualifications, Scrum/Agile exposure. - Stand-out background: delivery of security projects; military experience will be considered if supported by qualifications and demonstrable project delivery. Your competencies include: - Breaking down complex problems and structuring solutions logically. - Strong planning and scheduling skills to coordinate interrelated project teams. - The ability to work under pressure, producing clear reports and presentations. - Independence, initiative, and a pragmatic “self-starter” approach to problem-solving. - Excellent influencing skills to drive change and ensure governance is embraced. - Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels. Package This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach at our Falmer /Durrington office s or project sites, with typically 3 days a week WFH.
