Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee our kitchen operations and deliever a cafe menu, at our busy daytime cafe.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, combined with the ability to work solo on most days. This role is essential in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly, maintains high standards of food safety, and delivers exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Duties
* Supervise pot wash and lunch cover, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
* Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
* Collaborate with the owners to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings.
* Manage inventory, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs effectively.
* Train and mentor new Saturday kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and customer service.
* Ensure the kitchen is well-organised, clean, and equipped for efficient operation.
* Address any issues or complaints promptly to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
Experience
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen environment.
* Strong background in food production, with hands-on cooking experience of a busy daytime cafe offering.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality settings.
* Previous experience in cafe/restaurant operations is highly desirable.
* If you are passionate about culinary excellence and possess the necessary skills to run a busy day time cafe kitchen solo or with minimal support.
This is a new business, under new ownership, with exciting plans for the cafe and events.

Pay: £13.50 per hour
