Job Title: Maths and/or English Teacher (Post-16)
We are seeking an experienced and passionate teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive Maths and/or English lessons to post-16 learners. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering dynamic lessons, assessing learner progress, and tailoring teaching to meet individual needs.
1. Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that motivate learners and challenge them.
2. Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to personalize learning pathways.
3. Use IA outcomes and holistic learner data to tailor teaching approaches.
4. Promote high expectations to build confidence and aspirations among learners.
5. Manage classroom behavior to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
6. Track learner progress and identify those needing intervention for rapid improvement.
7. Deliver impactful teaching across various settings, including centres, groups, and individual learners.
8. Champion safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety policies.
Essential Experience and Qualifications:
* Recent experience teaching Maths and/or English to post-16 learners, including in training providers or college settings.
* Experience preparing learners for Entry 3 - Level 2, including Functional Skills and GCSEs.
* Up-to-date knowledge of post-16 curriculum requirements, assessment methods, and learner needs.
* Qualifications in relevant subjects and evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
* Proven success teaching Functional Skills and GCSE to disengaged learners.
* Strong planning and assessment skills for progress within challenging environments.
* Effective collaboration, time management, and adaptability across multiple sites.
Location: St Helens
Salary: Up to £28,000 per annum
