Aston Education is working with an Ofsted Good 11-18 secondary school in Lewisham looking for a permanent full-time Lead Practitioner English and Literacywith responsibility for whole-school literacy.

Responsibilities include:
As a Lead Practitioner English and Literacy, your primary focus will be on expert teaching and developing colleagues to improve their practice.
This is also a key role for ensuring that every student can read, write and communicate with confidence. You'll will lead the development of a coherent, ambitious literacy strategy across the Academy, ensuring that literacy is embedded consistently in every subject and every classroom.
You will work closely with the Head of English and senior leaders to drive improvements in teaching, learning and outcomes, with a particular focus on supporting disadvantaged pupils and those with SEND to access the full curriculum.
You have:
* Qualified teacher status (QTS)
* Degree in English or another relevant subject
* Successful experience teaching English to KS3-KS5
* Strong understanding of literacy development (reading, writing and oracy) across the curriculum
* Proven track record of improving the quality of teaching and learning within a department or across a school
* Experience coaching and mentoring colleagues
