:
Carry out Quality Control Testingin accordance withOxoid test specifications and methods. This will include but is not limited to:
1. Level 1, 2, 3 & 4 testing methods
2. Media Preparation
3. OOS investigation and repeats
4. Raising and investigating Incidents
5. Training records recorded and maintained
6. Plan,trackand control the progress of products under test, and provideaccurateavailability dates to planning and customer services
7. Alerting the QC Team Leader of potential problems/failures andassistwith further investigation
8. Ensure all test results are recorded within the SAP Quality Management module
9. Equipment checks and audits
10. Cleaning
11. Waste management
12. Consumable replenishing
13. Use of autoclaves
14. RCA/Problem solving
15. Ensure processes and procedures are carried outin accordance withthe laboratory and company Quality Systems
16. Build andmaintaineffective working relationships to ensure robust teamwork cross-functionally and with key collaborators (key interfaces include QC Manager, QC Lead Scientist, QC Team Leader, QA, Manufacturing Sciences, Production, Customer Services and Planning) to ensure customer service level targets are met
17. Takingdirectionsfrom the QC Team Leader and Lead Scientistregardingprioritization of finished product and raw material testing
18. Engage in continuous improvement using the PPI leanmethodologyincluding standard work and tier meetings. Use PPI processes to tackle problems and improve departmental and business processes
19. Take on key laboratory responsibilities such as first aider, fire warden, LSG, PPI Champion etc.
20. Deputize for leading T1 and attending Tier 2 if required by the Team Leader
21. Role-model the Thermo Fisher 4I Values and use as a day-to-day guide in decision making
22. To fulfill the responsibilities of the position as defined in the Oxoid Health, Safety and Environmental policies and associated Codes of Practice
Education
23. Level 6 educational qualification or equivalent in a Microbiology or related subject (or QBE)
24. Effective planning and organizational skills
25. Decision Quality - Attention to detail and a systematic approach
26. Problem Solving - Effective in technical and organizational troubleshooting to root cause
27. Communicates openly creating collaborative relationships by developing strong work relationships, displayingintegrityand building trust across functions
28. Drive for Results - Delivering consistent results by beingaction oriented,demonstratingorganizational agility, planning optimally, and setting priorities.
29. Proficiencyin laboratory skills and techniques (pipetting, swabbing, streaking, pouring platesetc)
30. Competency in testing at least 2 Oxoid product groups/expertiseof (HPLC, Wet Chemistry, LP and RAWM,FPs, AST,DCMand FDS)
31. Good numeracy skills, and ability to read and follow methods / SOPs precisely.

32. Significant experienceof quality control testing within a microbiology laboratory environment
33. Composure – Able to remain calm and work methodically under pressure
34. Continuous improvement attitude
35. Significant experiencein usingSAPand MS Office software packages
