Use of voice recognition software to transcribe and proofread clinically dictated letters
High attention to detail and accuracy essential for typing and proofreading of clinical letters
Typing correspondence to patients, GP's, medical staff and any other required addressee following clinical attendance or other patient contacts as directed by the secretary supervisor.
Typing detailed medical reports for legal use when necessary.
Supporting consultant staff by assisting with the production and transcription of letters
Taking and transcribing of minutes as appropriate.
Chasing of scan results
Diary management, including coordinating appointments, booking of meeting dates and venues, organising and distributing documents as required by the clinical team/supervisor.
Management of busy mailboxes and telephones
Liaising with external organisations for the benefit and progress of patient care, such as GP surgeries, other hospitals, etc
