Electrical Shift Engineer – CBRE

Role Summary
Provide electrical maintenance, fault management and emergency response for critical data‑centre facilities, ensuring compliance with H&S procedures, SLA targets and audit requirements.
Responsibilities
* Deliver & ensure all critical facility PPMs are carried out on schedule and complete reactive work requests in line with SLA.
* Maintain all systems according to CBRE H&S procedures, using permit‑to‑work system where applicable and implementing improvement actions identified during inspections.
* Apply a risk‑focused maintenance approach and operate plant and systems in data‑centre/critical environments.
* Ensure all client services, computer rooms, data networks, manufacturing and revenue‑earning services meet client requirements.
* Provide emergency response standby, call‑out and escalation of urgent issues; respond to work interruptions, outages and emergencies in line with SLA.
* Support critical‑environment‑related technical audits as directed by the line manager.
* Complete records and logs required to demonstrate delivery of maintenance requirements.
* Control and supervise contractors when required.
* Raise recommendations for improvements through the line manager.
* Liaise with the CBRE QHS specialist to ensure audit compliance as directed by line management.
* Continuously communicate high‑priority tasks, issues, to end‑users, client and CBRE Management team.
* Assist and enhance service delivery through best practice and effective use of site systems and equipment.
* Responsible for own technical training requirements and development program, including competency assessments, critical services training and scenario training exercises.
Experience Required
* Self‑motivated delivery of M&E tasks (preventative and reactive).
* Knowledge of emergency response / standby / call‑out activities and protocols.
* Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
* Ambition to become an authorised person (LV & HV).
* Health & safety focused with training to support; employer‑based qualifications acceptable.
* Ability to deal with conflicting priorities.
* Knowledge of 18th Edition (amendment 3) Electrical Wiring Regulations & 2391‑52 Testing & Inspection.
* BMS controls experience / HVAC experience.
* Experience in operation of UPS, standby power and critical environment cooling is advantageous.
* Working knowledge of F‑Gas is advantageous (handling not required).
