OverviewTwo full‑time and one part‑time Team Leader roles have opened within South Lanarkshire Council Social Work Department’s Emergency Social Work Service (ESWS). The ESWS works 365 days a year, covering 128.5 hours per week, with local office work 250 days a year and 39.5 hours per week.
Responsibilities
* Lead a small Team Leader team over a three‑week shift rota, working weekends and public holidays as per the rota.
* Make day‑to‑day decisions during out‑of‑hours periods, ensuring responsive service delivery to a wide variation of referrals.
* Supervise and line‑manage social work assistants, providing performance management and safeguarding oversight.
* Maintain strong links with day‑time Social Work services and local Social Work offices, ensuring coordination between Emergency Social Work and locality Social Work.
* Manage senior management on‑call responsibility between 01:45 and 08:45 hrs on weekdays, and 01:45 and 07:45 hrs on weekends.
* Partner actively with Police, Health, and other agencies, promoting partnership working across the public protection arena.
Qualifications
* Registered with the SSSC and qualified to degree/diploma level in Social Work.
* Experience managing and leading teams, including supervision and performance management.
* Experience in managing Social Work delivery within the public protection arena is essential.
* Full UK driving licence and commitment to leading the service and working collaboratively with other social work leaders and partner agencies.
