We are seeking a dedicated and driven individual who is passionate about patient care ‘behind the scenes’ to manage the Sterile Services Unit for 12 months.
This role is for a fixed term of 12 months.
Responsibilities
* Manage the Sterile Services Unit for 12 months.
* Support decontamination staff of various levels and implement procedures.
* Perform a full range of decontamination duties with senior accountability within the department.
* Work independently in all areas of the specialty.
* Maintain and manage Decontamination records for the unit.
* Apply professional judgement and utilise specialist skills and detailed scientific knowledge when reviewing and interpreting technical data and production reports to ensure a safe service is provided.
* Provide a high quality and timely service to all customers/service users.
* Supervise, organise, allocate work and train less experienced/qualified staff.
* Assist with the development of the Department’s Standard Operating Procedures in accordance with Quality Management Systems and ensure staff compliance to them.
* Plan own workload and work with minimal managerial direction.
* Support the provision of a specialised decontamination service contributing to the clinical care of patients.
Qualifications
* Previous decontamination experience (of reusable medical devices) is essential.
* Proven management experience is essential.
* Strong scientific knowledge relevant to medical device decontamination.
* Ability to review and interpret technical data and production reports.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality management.
