The role
Executive Advisor (Policy & Research – Band 1)
💷 £39,274 – £50,496 (pro rata)
This is a senior, high-impact role, particularly supporting my work as Chair of the Public Accounts and Public Administration Committee.
You’ll lead on policy, research and scrutiny, helping ensure strong oversight of public spending and public administration in Wales.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead in-depth policy research and analysis
- Support committee inquiries, scrutiny, and reporting
- Draft speeches, questions, and policy papers
- Provide strategic advice on complex issues
- Engage with senior stakeholders across government and beyond
- Support communications and media work
- Oversee and support junior staff
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in policy, research, or parliamentary settings
- Can quickly analyse complex information and identify key issues
- Has excellent communication and drafting skills
- Brings strong judgement and political awareness
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-profile environment
