Are you passionate about delivering exceptional service and creating memorable experiences? Join our dynamic Conference & Events team as a Porter and play a key role in the success of our events!
About the Role
As a Conference & Events Porter, you’ll be at the heart of our convention centre operations, ensuring that all meeting and event suites are set up and maintained to the highest standards. You’ll work closely with colleagues and clients to deliver seamless events, supporting the logistics and presentation of our world-class facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily set-up and breakdown of meeting and banqueting suites according to resort standards.
Support clients and guests with the movement of equipment and parcels.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of all event spaces.
Ensure all equipment is cared for, controlled, and maintained in a safe, satisfactory condition.
Report maintenance issues, accidents, and incidents promptly.
Contribute to a positive, guest-focused culture and work collaboratively with colleagues across departments.
Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
About You
You’re someone who thrives in a busy, hands-on environment and enjoys working with people. With experience in a customer-facing role, you communicate clearly and professionally, both in person and in writing. You’re comfortable with basic IT and, ideally, have some familiarity with tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, or Delphi. Flexibility comes naturally, you’re happy to work a variety of shifts and adapt to changing needs, and you’re physically fit, ready to take on manual tasks and stay on your feet for long periods.
If you’ve worked in a hotel or conference environment before, or have experience with stock or parcel control, that’s a real plus. Additional qualifications such as a driving licence, First Aid training, or Health & Safety knowledge would be great, but above all, you bring a positive attitude and a passion for delivering excellent service.
Why Join Us?
At the Celtic Manor Resort, you’ll become part of a supportive and friendly team that truly values your contribution. You’ll work in a stunning, prestigious resort environment where no two days are the same. We’re passionate about helping our people grow, so you’ll have access to excellent training, development, and real opportunities to progress your career.
