We are recruiting an Interim Repairs Surveyor for a leading Social Housing provider based in Northampton, supporting property services across the local region on a 6-month contract.
As an Interim Repairs Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing and resolving property repair issues across housing stock, ensuring homes are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and safe for residents. Rate: £35 – £40 per hour (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Contract: 6-month interim assignment (potential for extension)
Working pattern: Full-time (37–40 hours per week)About the Company:

Conduct detailed property inspections, including condition surveys and defect diagnosis
Prepare technical reports and schedules of work
Manage repair cases from initial inspection through to completion
Oversee works relating to general repairs, damp, mould, and structural issues
Prepare specifications and manage contractors to deliver remedial works
Ensure all works comply with legislation, regulations, and health & safety standards
Liaise with tenants, contractors, and internal teams
Monitor progress of works and ensure timely completion
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Support wider property services as required in your role as a Repairs SurveyorAbout you:
Proven experience in a similar role within Social Housing or property services
Strong knowledge of building maintenance and repairs
Relevant construction qualification (HNC, HND, Degree in Building Surveying or similar)
Excellent understanding of building pathology, including damp and general defects
Experience managing contractors and overseeing works
Strong report writing and organisational skills
Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload as a Repairs Surveyor
