Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Infrastructure Project Engineer
to join our growing team. This role plays a critical part in shaping and delivering innovative transport technology solutions, working at the intersection of hardware, software, and infrastructure (cloud and on-prem).
The Infrastructure Project Engineer will engage directly with clients to understand business requirements, propose appropriate technology solutions, and contribute to the development of specifications, documentation, and commercial proposals. Working closely with Solutions Architects and project teams, you will help ensure that solutions are technically viable, commercially sound, and aligned to customer needs.
This role is ideal for an engineer with a strong infrastructure background who enjoys concept development, client engagement, and shaping solutions in a highly dynamic and innovative sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Engage with UK and international clients to capture business requirements and translate them into infrastructure concepts.
* Recommend technology solutions by leveraging existing, pre-built, and proven components.
* Develop and maintain high-quality documentation including functional and non-functional specifications.
* Contribute technical input to bids, tenders, and business cases, including costings and feasibility analysis.
* Collaborate with Solutions Architects to validate and refine solution designs.
* Support project delivery teams by ensuring solutions remain aligned with scope, budget, and customer requirements.
* Participate in workshops, presentations, and meetings with clients and stakeholders.
* Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry best practices within transport and infrastructure.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proven experience as an Infrastructure Engineer, Project Engineer, or Technical Consultant.
* Strong technical knowledge across infrastructure domains, including hardware, cloud, on-prem, and connectivity.
* Ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders to capture and interpret business requirements.
* Experience in transport technology or large-scale infrastructure projects (highly desirable).
* Strong documentation skills and the ability to produce clear specifications.
* Familiarity with tools such as SQL, Power BI, JIRA, Confluence, or similar.
* Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* A collaborative approach, able to work effectively with architects, project managers, and international teams.
