Bath Area Play Project Address/Location: The Hut, Newton Road, Twerton BA2 1RX Fixed term, subject to extension We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Specialist Playleader to lead a small team providing a safe, nurturing environment for primary aged children with SEND on fortnightly Term Time Saturdays, approximately 6 sessions per quarter. Work in some school holidays is also included. The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 qualification working with children and be experienced in supporting primary age children with SEND. You will need great organisational skills and leadership skills, with experience in childcare settings and have a good understanding of playwork. As a playleader, you will play a crucial role in working alongside a small team, engaging with children, and building positive relationships with families. As Leader, the role includes liaising with families from new enquiries and allocating places on a termly basis. Planning and resourcing sessions, for which a small budget is available and ensuring staff ratios are in place. Leading sessions in term time and holidays, communicating with parents/carers and working alongside the Short Breaks Co-ordinator in relation to all holiday bookings. Maintaining a safe environment, ensuring children are safeguarded and have a positive play session alongside their peers whilst providing a valuable break for parents. Join our team as a Specialist Playleader where you can make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with SEND whilst providing respite for parents. 8 hours/week term time only, currently working face to face only every fortnight, 312 hours/year plus 30 days Holiday Playscheme in Easter, Summer and October school holidays. You will have 2 years experience of working with disabled children.
