JMW Solicitors are recruiting for three Paralegals and/or Conveyancing Assistants to join our Real Estate Residential department at our head office in Spinningfields, Manchester.
Previous experience within a conveyancing team would be preferred but is not essential. These roles will be supporting fee earners with their caseloads. The team typically deal with:
* Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
* New build properties
* Help to Buy properties
* Shared Ownership properties
* Remortgages
* Builders and Developers

These roles will be fully office-based initially, with the option to work from home one day a week following a settling in period.
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
* Ensuring clients and introducers always receive the best possible service
* Communicating with clients of the department in a professional and courteous manner
* Receiving telephone calls into the department; dealing with the calls as far as is possible and directing the calls where appropriate
* Dealing with straightforward enquiries
* Making calls to clients and third parties involved in the conveyancing transaction
* Ordering searches
* Drafting search reports and mortgage reports under the supervision of a conveyancer
* Responding promptly to requests for updates from clients, estate agents, brokers and introducers
* Updating introducer portals where necessary
* Preparing contract packs
* Ordering documents from HMLR
* Ordering bankruptcy searches, priority searches and company searches
* Logging post in
* Preparing files for completion
* Ensuring that the case management is fully up to date
* Using own initiative to progress files within the limits of own ability
* Flagging any issues/concerns to conveyancer with responsibility for the matter
* Undertaking any other tasks that may be required to assist the department
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
* Excellent IT skills particularly with experience in Word, Excel and Outlook
* Ability to communicate well orally and in writing, including dealing directly with clients when required
* Strong team working ethic
* Ability to work well under pressure and be proactive
* Ability to manage workload and prioritise effectively
* Excellent customer services skills
* Team player – work well with others, provide support where necessary, and know your limits and when to seek guidance
* Previous experience within a conveyancing team would be advantageous.
* A Law degree is desirable but not essential
