Our Client is seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Solar Designer to join their growing team. They are a leading provider of sustainable energy solutions and are committed to delivering high-quality, innovative solar designs that meet the needs of our commercial clients.
Responsibilities:
* Design and develop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems for commercial buildings, includingRoof-mounted system, Ground-mounted system, Carport-mounted systems.
* Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to determine the optimal solar system configuration.
* Create detailed technical drawings and specifications using industry-standard software (e.g., PV Sol AutoCAD, PVSyst, SketchUp).
* Prepare system sizing calculations, performance simulations, and energy yield estimates.
* Develop bill of materials (BOM) for solar system components.
* Coordinate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure smooth project execution.
* Stay up-to-date on the latest solar technologies, regulations, and industry best practices.
* Support sales and marketing efforts by providing technical expertise and design proposals.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related field.
* 2+ years of experience in designing commercial solar PV systems.
* Strong understanding of solar energy fundamentals, including system components, sizing, and performance analysis.
* Proficiency in using CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp) and solar design software (PVSol PVSyst, SAM).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Valid UK driving license.
* Knowledge of relevant building regulations and industry standards (e.g., MCS, IET).
