JobTitle: Team Leader - People Services

Salary: Up to 42,000 per annum not pro rata (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Location: Bolton - Hybrid

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

About the Role

Were looking for a confident and capable People Services Team Leader to join us at OFG Group. In this role, youll lead a team of People Advisors and Junior Business Partners to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused HR service across a diverse and dynamic organisation.

This is a varied and influential role, combining team leadership, expert HR advisory support, and involvement in strategic People initiatives. Youll play a key part in driving continuous improvement, ensuring our work aligns with OFGs wider People Strategy and commitment to excellence.

Youll act as the first point of escalation for complex or high-risk HR cases, including Employment Tribunals, and provide expert guidance to managers and stakeholders across the business. As a commercially astute HR professional, youll bring significant experience in employee relations and case management, alongside a solid understanding of employment law and safeguarding responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

* Leading and motivating the People Services team to deliver consistent, compliant, and high-quality support.
* Managing workload allocation and ensuring service standards are met.
* Acting as escalation point for complex cases including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance, and safeguarding.
* Providing expert HR advice on employment matters, including support for high-risk cases and representation at Employment Tribunals.
* Promoting and embedding safeguarding practices within the team.
* Contributing to people policy development and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
* Supporting strategic People projects around culture, engagement, systems, and continuous improvement.
* Working collaboratively with internal partners across L&D, Payroll, and senior leadership.

What Were Looking For:

* Proven experience in a senior HR advisory or leadership role within a complex or multi-site organisation.
* Strong people management and performance development skills.
* Practical experience managing Employment Tribunal cases.
* Excellent knowledge of employment law, HR policy, and safeguarding practices.
* Ability to advise, influence, and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Experience contributing to or leading HR transformation and change initiatives.
* Strong writing skills, including the ability to draft formal documentation and policies.

Desirable:

* CIPD Level 5 (or working toward)
* Experience in education, care, or regulated environments
* Knowledge of HR systems such as PeopleXD
