Maintenance Worker Specialist – Electrical Bias (Band 5)
Location: East and North Hertfordshire
We seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our Estates and Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment and support the safe, efficient operation of our hospitals.
Main Responsibilities
1. Carry out planned preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across Trust sites.
2. Diagnose and repair faults on healthcare building services (e.g., electrical distribution, fire alarms, nurse call systems, motors, and ventilation plant).
3. Participate in the on-call rota for emergency response (e.g., fire alarms, lift trappings).
4. Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and Trust policies, including risk assessments.
5. Order parts and materials, oversee contractors, and complete minor improvement works to HTM/HBN and IEE standards.
6. Provide technical advice, support, and training to colleagues.
Person Specification Essential:
7. NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
8. City & Guilds Level 3 in Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations.
9. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
10. Full UK driving licence (with ability to travel between sites).
11. Strong experience in electrical maintenance and repair, with high accuracy and problem-solving skills.
12. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.

Desirable:
14. Knowledge of HTM 06.02.
15. Health & Safety certification (e.g., risk assessment training).
16. Experience in demanding environments with multiple priorities.
