Make a Lasting Impact - One Learner at a Time
Are you a compassionate and adaptable educator who thrives on helping young people reach their potential outside of the traditional classroom?
We're seeking dedicated Outreach Tutors and Teachers to deliver personalised one-to-one and small group sessions across Essex. This is a deeply rewarding role supporting learners who may be unable to attend mainstream education due to anxiety, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, SEND, or other challenges - through our partner Alternative Education Service.
(Please note: this role is through our partner service, not directly with the agency.)
Whether you're teaching in a pupil's home, a library, or an alternative education setting, you'll help students rebuild confidence, reconnect with learning, and achieve meaningful academic progress.
What You'll Be Doing
* Deliver tailored one-to-one lessons in core subjects such as English, Maths, and PSHE, from EYFS to Year 11 (including GCSE and Functional Skills).
* Build positive, trusting relationships with learners and their families.
* Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs and learning styles.
* Support students' academic progress alongside emotional resilience and wellbeing.
* Maintain accurate records and progress reports.
* Use creative tools and resources to keep lessons engaging and purposeful.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified or experienced educators with strong Maths and English knowledge.
* Experience supporting young people with SEND, SEMH, or other additional needs.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills.
* Empathy, patience, and a learner-centred approach.
* Confidence working independently across varied environments.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply - support available).
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
Why Join Us?
* Flexible hours to suit your lifestyle (typically between 9:30am-4:00pm).
* Consistent work - as one placement ends, we'll aim to find your next.
* Weekly pay, with a choice of contract options (self-employed or umbrella).
* Access to lesson plans and teaching resources to support your sessions.
* Over 88 free CPD courses, including Safeguarding, Behaviour Management, and Positive Handling.
* Immediate starts available across Essex.
By applying through us, you'll benefit from our efficient placement process and dual registration - giving you direct access to opportunities with one of Essex's leading Alternative Education Providers, recognised for their exceptional commitment to student development and progress.
