Solicitor – Credit Hire & Subrogated Recovery

Are you an experienced Solicitor with strong expertise in credit hire and subrogated recovery claims? This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role within a growing, forward-thinking practice. You’ll help build a new team, supervise developing talent, and lead on technical quality and delivery.
The Role
You’ll manage your own caseload of litigated credit hire and subrogated recovery matters from start to finish while taking a key role in developing and leading a new team. Working directly with insurer clients, you’ll provide practical, commercial advice and ensure that work across the team meets high professional standards.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Handling a caseload of litigated credit hire and subrogated recovery claims.
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior team members as the department grows.
- Overseeing and reviewing the team’s output to ensure accuracy, consistency, and high technical quality.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and instructions to counsel.
- Providing clear litigation strategy and commercial advice to insurer clients.
- Attending hearings (where appropriate) and securing strong results.
- Helping shape team structure, workflow processes, and best practices as the department expands.
What We’re Looking For
- A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with proven experience in credit hire and subrogated recovery litigation (Defendant work).
- Confident managing litigated files independently from issue to resolution.
- Strong leadership qualities and the ability to train, supervise, and motivate a growing team.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with insurer clients is highly desirable.
- A proactive, solutions-driven approach with excellent attention to detail.
