We are currently recruiting for a Yard Maintenance Operative to work at Heathrow Airport, supporting an Engineer with the upkeep and maintenance of forklift batteries. This role is based outdoors under covered canopies and would suit someone comfortable working in a yard or similar industrial environment. Location: Heathrow Airport Shift: Night Shift - 22:30 to 06:30 Hours: 40 hours per week (all hours paid) Pay: £18.00 per hour Contract: 4 weeks (potential to be a permanent opportunity) DBS Check: Required The Role: You will be responsible for assisting with the general upkeep and maintenance of forklift batteries to ensure safe and efficient operation. Key duties include: Cleaning forklift batteries and surrounding areas Changing and topping up batteries as required Supporting the Engineer with routine maintenance tasks Ensuring work areas are kept clean, safe, and organised Following health & safety procedures at all times Working outdoors under canopies in a yard environment Remaining active throughout the shift, involving regular movement The Ideal Candidate: Experience working in a yard, warehouse, industrial, or outdoor environment Comfortable working night shifts Physically active and happy with a role involving regular movement (no heavy lifting) Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a small team A strong awareness of health and safety Able to pass a DBS check If this role sounds of interest to you then please apply with an up-to-date CV.
