Schedule: Monday – Friday, 1st shift; Saturdays as needed
United Ag & Turf NE is seeking a Field Service Technician responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline industrial, construction, and forestry equipment, generally working independently and outdoors. Supports the Service department in a professional, safe, and timely manner.
What You’ll Do
* Read job orders, observe, and listen to equipment in operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
* Install fuel injection nozzles and pumps, recharge batteries, and replace transmissions, hydraulic systems, and components.
* Inspect safety guards, bolts, and safety devices on equipment.
* Fabricate lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices from blueprints or schematics.
* Remove, replace, and repair tires, undercarriages, and attachments.
* Provide detailed work descriptions on work orders.
* Maintain tools and equipment, keep work area clean, and follow safety procedures.
* Read schematics and evaluate operating specifications.
* Test units for conformance with performance standards.
* Ensure new and used equipment is in good working condition.
* Maintain service vehicle cleanliness and perform inspections.
Requirements
* Own and maintain own tools (dealership provides specialty tools)
* Basic computer skills
* Ability to perform maintenance and assembly tasks
* Flexible work schedule, including responding to after-hours calls
* Strong customer service skills
* Excellent communication skills
* Strong organizational skills
* Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school
* Minimum of 5 years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education
* High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
* Stand for long periods, bend, crawl under equipment for repairs
* Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
* Work around heavy equipment on irregular terrain
* Operate a vehicle during day and night
* Use hands for handling, typing, and feeling; reach, talk, hear, sit, stand, and walk
