Part-Time Teaching Assistant (1:1 Support – Year 3)

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a friendly and inclusive primary school in Littlehampton to recruit a committed Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism and associated challenging behaviour.
About the Role
This rewarding position involves supporting a child on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning and develop positive behaviours within the classroom. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a calm, structured, and supportive environment tailored to the pupil’s individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
* Implement behaviour management strategies and support plans
* Help the pupil engage with learning activities and routines
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals
* Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children with Autism (ASC)
* Confidence supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
* A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Relevant qualifications or training (desirable but not essential)
