A great opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Technician within our Capital Estates and & Facilities Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne.The post holder will assist the Estates Supervisors in delivery of services within the department.
The post holder will be responsible for repairs, fault-finding and routine planned maintenance to services, plant and equipment at Broadmoor ensuring compliance with all Statutory Regulations, HTMs, Trust Standards, policies and procedures.
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic and experienced operational Mechanical Technician to work in a team providing an efficient, customer focused and high quality maintenance services.

Main duties of the job
To have delegated responsibility for the management, co-ordination and monitoring of plant room maintenance activities using both directly employed labour and contractual services to ensure the estate is maintained in such a condition that it fulfils its functions effectively, safely, economically and efficiently, whilst ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and trust policies.
The post holder will work closely with the other members of the Estates and Facilities team to ensure the buildings are maintained to a high standard.
Working within the HTM’s they will carry out competent person duties.
A good working knowledge of HSAWA, COSHH and safe working practices is essential.
They will be able to use their skills to ensure work is completed with minimal disruption to patients and visitors and be able to prioritise tasks and works accordingly; being a good communicator and a team player are key qualities.

Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
1. Industry recognised qualification/apprenticeship plus relevant experience to professional level or equivalent training and experience.
2. City and Guilds Part II, NVQ Level 3 or other recognised qualification.
3. Accredited Health & Safety training course

4. Gas Safe Certification
Experience
Essential criteria
5. Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience within a commercial environment
6. Substantial post training experience across engineering, mechanical, heating and plumbing trades and experience of installation works and fault finding
7. Experience working in a reactive and pressurised environment
8. Experience undertaking surveys and audits (e.g. condition surveys)

10. Experience working alongside other maintenance specialisms (e.g. electrical, plumbing & building trades)
