Overview : Zenovo have partnered with a long-standing client in Plymouth to support the growth of their R&D & Production Team. This organisation is creating innovative Automomous Robotic Systems that are recognised and deployed globally. They are looking for 2 Production Engineers who will play a critical role in supporting production operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring high standards of quality and compliance. Key Responsibilities :
* Develop, evaluate, and continuously optimise manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
* Lead the setup and launch of a new mechatronic assembly line in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
* Design and implement manufacturing tools, equipment, and procedures to ensure optimal workflow and facility layout.
* Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure new products are manufacturable and meet all technical specifications.
* Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by developing production plans and assisting with prototype builds.
* Analyse production data to identify trends, resolve issues, and drive process improvements.
* Conduct root cause analysis of manufacturing issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
* Create and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, routings, process specifications, and technical reports.
* Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve productivity, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
* Provide technical leadership and hands-on support to the production team.
Experience Required:
* Minimum 3+ years experience in a manufacturing or production engineering environment for a regulated sector
* Proficient in CAD software (such as SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or Inventor) for designing and modifying components and assemblies, as well as producing detailed 3D models and technical drawings.
* Exposure to Electronic and/or Mechanical Engineering principles and applications.
* Strong knowledge of maritime materials and manufacturing processes, including composites and CNC machining.
* Understanding of quality control standards and methodologies, including statistical process control (SPC) and inspection techniques.
