SEMH Support Assistant - Blythe Bridge - Immediate Start
Ideal for psychology graduates, care workers, youth mentors, or anyone with a passion for supporting vulnerable young people

Are you looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have experience-either through work or study-supporting individuals with emotional, behavioural, or additional needs?

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a specialist school in Blythe Bridge and are looking for a compassionate and committed individual to join them as a full-time SEMH Support Assistant. You don't need to have worked in a school before-what matters is your ability to build relationships, stay calm under pressure, and offer consistent, positive support.

About the Role:

You'll work closely with students aged 11-16 who face social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Many have additional needs such as ADHD, autism (ASD), or behavioural difficulties.

Your day-to-day duties may include:

* Supporting students in the classroom, either 1:1 or in small groups

* Helping young people manage their emotions and behaviour

* Using your empathy and resilience to build trust and consistency

* Encouraging progress in learning, confidence, and social skills

* Working closely with teachers and therapists to support individual plans

* Providing personal care when needed (training provided)

Who This Role Is Ideal For:

We welcome applicants from a range of backgrounds, including:

* Psychology, criminology, or education graduates looking for hands-on experience

* Care workers, residential support workers, or healthcare assistants

* Youth workers or sports/activity leaders

* People with lived experience of SEN, mental health, or behaviour support

* Anyone with a calm and caring nature, looking for a rewarding role

What You'll Need:

* Experience working or volunteering with children, young people, or vulnerable adults

* A resilient and compassionate attitude

* Confidence in handling challenging behaviour (training and support provided)

* A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one

What's On Offer:

* Full-time, long-term role with the potential for a permanent position

* Full training and ongoing support
