Automation Senior Software Engineer at Aviva. This role focuses on solving complex technical challenges and driving automation excellence across a large organisation. You’ll mentor others, influence stakeholders, and lead innovative automation solutions. You’ll work collaboratively, share knowledge, and make an impact through technology.
This role may suit someone with experience in Appian, RPA, BPM, or IDP and who is ready to take a leadership step. Ideal for shaping strategy, guiding best practices, and supporting a diverse team of developers and apprentices.
What you’ll do
You’ll join the Platforms Automation team delivering automation solutions across Aviva using Robotic Process Automation, Business Process Management, and Intelligent Document Processing. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll provide consultancy, lead development on strategic projects, ensure best practices across the software development lifecycle, mentor junior developers, support apprentices, and contribute to design reviews and technology decisions.
Skills and experience
* Strong hands-on experience with Appian and/or other automation technologies (RPA, BPM, IDP)
* Proven ability to lead development projects and influence technical decisions
* Comfortable providing consultancy, design support, and guidance across teams and stakeholders
* Experience mentoring junior developers or apprentices
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across diverse teams
What you’ll get
Starting salary circa £70,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications). Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary.
