We have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Development Manager to join our talented Development Team and contribute to the delivery of innovative new Battery Box projects.
Role
This diverse role covers everything from identifying sites and negotiating legal agreements to managing planning applications, liaising with landlords, project management, and preparing key documents to support financial investment decisions in Energy Storage projects:
* Assessing suitable sites for Battery Box development through various mapping tools, and site feasibility studies
* Engaging with Distributed Network Operators (DNOs) and other industry bodies such as local planning authorities to identify opportunities
* Supporting other team members in the identification of projects and assessment of opportunities
* Engaging with landowners and land agents regarding securing land for Battery Box projects
* Negotiating agreements including landowner agreements
* Managing projects through the grid connection process with the relevant network operator
* Consulting on project proposals with stakeholders local to the project area
* Managing and reporting on all project risks, ensuring that management remains fully informed of any significant developments
* Continuously developing and expanding existing knowledge of the renewable energy industry, staying informed on energy policy developments, industry media, and engaging in professional networking
* In line with our Graduate onboarding milestone plan, you will have the opportunity to visit sites, facilitate and be actively involved in the handover process to the Operations and Maintenance team
* Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably expected at this level.
What we are looking for
Energetic and enthusiastic individuals who thrive in a dynamic environment and possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
* Degree educated preferably in Engineering, Geography, Geology, Economics, or Environmental Science desirable
* Confident in using a range of software tools, with the ability to quickly learn and apply industry-specific systems
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, ensuring clear coordination and effective workflow
* Strong problem-solving abilities with a constructive approach to tackling challenges and addressing issues as they arise
* Experienced in working to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities within a busy office environment
* Passionate about the renewables sector; with an interest in low carbon energy solutions and decarbonisation
* Self-motivated, decisive, and resilient, with the flexibility to adapt to change, working effectively both under team direction and independently when needed
* Highly motivated with a positive and approachable manner, enabling strong, effective engagement with colleagues and key stakeholders
* Demonstrates honesty and respect in interactions with others.

* Location: London – hybrid 2 days per week
