About the role
The Project Engineer manages the planning and implementation of capital and revenue projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to specifications, while meeting regulatory requirements. Projects include factory equipment such as packaging, processing, and site services.
Responsibilities
* Ensure projects meet all regulatory requirements and complete PFMEA as part of scope documentation.
* Deliver project success criteria and business benefits on time, to specification, and within budget.
* Define and communicate project scope and success criteria clearly.
* Manage live project plans effectively.
* Report on project KPIs and progress.
* Plan contingencies proactively.
* Manage project finances, ensuring cost-effectiveness and identifying value-adding opportunities.
* Maintain effective communication channels and teamwork.
* Manage internal and external resources for project delivery.
* Lead engineering and production teams during equipment installation and start-up.
* Handover project deliverables to stakeholders.
* Complete post-capex appraisal and close-out reports.
* Perform other duties as reasonably required.
Experience required
* Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
* Significant experience as a Project Engineer or in engineering roles.
* Proven FMCG operation experience, preferably in household environments.
* Strong project management skills with IT/software proficiency.
* Multi-disciplinary background with control and automation expertise, including VSD and PLC understanding.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Diligent, detail-oriented, and achievement-focused.
* Ability to work under pressure and solve problems innovatively.
