We currently have part-time vacancies in our Axminster store for a Clothing Assistant, working 8 hours per week across two 4-hour shifts, with weekend availability essential. This role is ideal for someone used to working in a fast-paced retail environment with a keen eye for presentation and customer care.
As a Clothing Assistant, you'll play an essential role in maintaining an attractive and well-organized clothing department, ensuring customers have a positive and helpful shopping experience. Your strong communication skills and approachable manner will support customer interactions, upselling opportunities, and team collaboration.
Responsibilities
* Assist in organizing and maintaining the clothing department for smooth day-to-day operations
* Provide friendly and efficient service to all customers, offering guidance on sizing, fit, and product features
* Maintain visual merchandising standards and ensure displays are neat, tidy, and seasonally relevant
* Work collaboratively with the team to replenish stock, process deliveries, and manage inventory levels
* Demonstrate excellent time management and prioritization skills within short shifts
* Handle customer queries with professionalism both in-store and over the phone
* Support promotional activity and contribute to hitting sales targets
Shift Patterns
2 x 4-hour shifts per week, with flexibility required within the following hours:
* Monday – Friday: 07.30 – 18.00
* Saturday: 08.30 – 18.00
* Sunday: 09.30 – 16.30
Weekend availability is essential for this role.
