Broker Manager – Unsecured SME Lending
The Opportunity
My client is an established international alternative lender that is now building out its UK presence and is seeking one of its first hires in the region — a Broker Manager focused on developing and growing introducer relationships within the UK SME lending market.

The business specialises in unsecured SME lending, with a strong focus on flexible working capital solutions and cash-flow-based lending.
The Role
My client is looking for a highly relationship-driven and commercially minded Broker Manager to take ownership of building and managing broker and introducer relationships across the UK.
This will be the company’s first dedicated Broker Manager hire in the UK, making it a highly autonomous role with significant opportunity to shape how the business develops its introducer network and market presence.
The successful candidate will spend a large amount of time:
* Meeting brokers and introducers face-to-face
* Attending networking and industry events
* Building long-term relationships within the SME finance market
* Driving awareness and deal flow for the business
This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys networking and being out in the market representing a lender.
Key Responsibilities
Broker & Introducer Relationship Management
* Build and develop relationships with:
* Commercial finance brokers
* SME introducers
* Accountants and professional referrers
* Become a trusted and responsive contact within the broker market
* Maintain regular engagement to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships
Business Development
* Identify and onboard new broker relationships across the UK
* Generate introducer-led deal flow aligned to the business’s unsecured lending appetite
* Promote the lender’s proposition within the SME finance market
Market Presence & Networking
* Represent the business at:
* Industry events
* Broker meetings
* Networking functions and roadshows
* Build brand awareness within the broker community
* Develop strong market relationships and visibility
Internal Collaboration
* Work closely with underwriting and operations teams to support deal progression
* Provide feedback from the market on competitor activity and broker demand
* Help shape broker engagement strategy as the UK business develops
Candidate Profile
Experience
* Strong background within:
* SME lending
* Unsecured business lending
* Broker management or introducer relationship management
* Commercial finance business development
* Existing, active relationships within the UK commercial broker market are essential
* Experience within alternative lending, fintech, or specialist finance preferred
