Hours: MondayFriday (Full-time, office-based)
Salary: £28k - £35k
M4 Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a long-established and innovative client based in Elstree, who is seeking a highly motivated and technically minded Internal Sales Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong technical background and excellent customer-facing skills to play a key role in supporting clients with bespoke equipment solutions, quotations, and technical applications.
Key Responsibilities Act as the first point of contact for customer enquiries, providing prompt quotations, pricing, and technical information.

Understand complex customer requirements and match suitable equipment or systems using technical data sheets, calculations, and specifications.

Work closely with the Production and Purchasing Manager, engineers, and sales team to deliver tailored solutions.

Use SAP Business One to record enquiries, quotations, and communications accurately.

Convert quotations into confirmed orders with clear internal instructions for production and dispatch.

Collaborate with the production team and fabricators to reverse-engineer customer solutions, adapting and creating 2D and 3D CAD drawings .

Ensure product compliance by staying up to date with relevant industry standards and legislation .

Agree delivery schedules with production and manage timelines for custom-engineered items.

Follow up on quotations to maximise conversion rates and maintain strong relationships with regular and lapsed customers.

Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell complementary products.

Support marketing campaigns, report on key accounts, and contribute to annual sales and marketing planning.

Attend customer demonstrations, site visits, and exhibitions where required.

About You A self-starter with excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.

Experience selling or specifying technical or mechanical products -- ideally within a related market sector.

A technical qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent) in electro-mechanical or mechanical engineering is desirable.

Skilled in Autodesk AutoCAD, with the ability to create, amend, and record precise 2D and 3D designs.

Knowledge of AC, DC, and hydraulic winches or hoists would be an advantage.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to clearly interpret customer needs both technically and personally.
