* Challenge assumptions and influence key stakeholders using robust financial analysis.
Financial Planning & Analysis:
* Lead the preparation of detailed budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts across business units.
* Monitor actual performance against forecasts and budgets, providing insightful variance analysis.
* Identify risks and opportunities, proactively suggesting mitigation strategies or performance improvements.
Management Reporting:
* Produce timely, accurate, and relevant management accounts with supporting commentary.
* Track and report on key KPIs, margin analysis, cost drivers, and profitability by product, region, or service line.
* Support in the preparation of board and investor reports.
Commercial Insight & Decision Support:
* Deliver scenario modelling and ‘what-if’ analyses to support investment appraisals and strategic planning.
* Provide commercial input into pricing decisions, tenders, and cost-benefit analyses.
* Help evaluate capital expenditure proposals, business cases, and long-term financial plans.
Process Improvement & Project Work:
* Identify areas to improve the efficiency, accuracy, and impact of financial reporting and analysis.
* Support the implementation of new finance systems, tools, or dashboards.
* Lead or support project accounting activities across cross-functional teams.
Operational Finance Support:
* Provide real-time financial support and analysis to operational leaders.
* Help develop business cases for new projects, expansion initiatives, and cost-saving strategies.
* Ensure alignment between finance and operations, driving accountability for financial performance.
This is a highly visible role, perfect for someone who is commercially minded, analytical, and thrives on solving problems and driving change. You’ll be given the autonomy to make a real impact, working closely with leadership to help shape the financial future of the business.
