Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (DOE) Location: Denton Setting: 6-bed Children’s Home About the Role We are seeking a committed Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a small children’s residential home. Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will ensure the home delivers the highest standards of care, fully meeting the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards. This role offers variety and purpose, combining safeguarding responsibilities, staff supervision, rota coordination, and hands-on support to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people. Flexibility is essential, as you will take part in the on-call rota and occasionally cover shifts where required. Key Responsibilities Support the daily running of the home, ensuring compliance with all legislation, regulations, and contracts. Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, ensuring their health, education, and emotional needs are met. Supervise, mentor, and develop staff to maintain consistently high standards of care. Contribute to financial planning, monitoring, and budget management. Build strong working relationships with external professionals and agencies to support care planning. Assist with recruitment, training, and workforce planning to ensure a skilled and resilient team. Lead on changes in response to new legislation, guidance, or inspection outcomes. Promote a positive culture of safety, equality, and continuous improvement within the home.
