We're looking for a Wholesale Logistics Manager to join our key operation here at Morrisons. You will be responsible for managing and holding our Third Party Logistics (3PL) partners accountable to deliver a high standard operation that matches our rapid growth. You will lead network change within a small, agile team, balancing the complex needs of our Franchise and Convenience portfolios.
The core purpose of this role is to drive a "best on time and in full" service at the lowest cost to operate. Your primary focus is delivering a leading Net Promoter Score (NPS) through exceptional delivery accuracy, safety, and proactive communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Excellence & NPS Leadership
Ensure 3PLs provide high quality pallet/cage stacking and hit strict delivery windows.
Conduct store visits to capture direct feedback and drive behavioral changes within 3PL teams.
Lead teams to provide rapid, professional responses to customer queries.
Warehouse & Transport Oversight
Oversee the "handshake" between warehouse output and transport capacity to ensure productivity translates into store efficiency.
Lead working groups to optimise cages/pallets per journey and maximise cases per journey.
3PL Governance & Productivity
Manage mandatory CI roadmaps and "Accelerate" plans to offset rising costs.
Lead weekly transport KPI reviews and formal Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) to close performance gaps.
Coordinate between 3PLs and vehicle providers to maximise asset utilisation and eliminate unnecessary short term hire.
Fleet & Compliance Management
Track individual vehicle metrics including MPG, AdBlue usage, and aerodynamic efficiency.
Oversee fleet management to reduce "at fault" damages and manage insurance claim processes.
Audit risk assessments for the driver population to ensure zero impact on the public or store teams.
Growth & Expansion
Support the logistics setup for 200–300 new store openings annually.
Negotiate frequency patterns and trunking routes with the Franchise team to optimise cost-per-case.
About You
We need a seasoned logistics pro who isn't afraid of ambiguity. If you have a background in managing large scale relationships, a knack for innovative problem solving, and the confidence to challenge the status quo, we want to hear from you.
As part of a lean management team, you will flex across both warehouse and transport operations. You are responsible for ensuring the warehouse partner's output perfectly aligns with transport capacity.
You will be:
Passionate about delivery accuracy, stacking quality, and professional communication.
Equally comfortable in the warehouse as you are managing a transport fleet; able to pivot between functions.
Proven experience managing 3PL relationships and challenging senior stakeholders objectively.
Thrive in fast paced environments and able to lead teams through periods of ambiguity.
Able to make high stakes decisions under pressure to drive network wide change.
