Job Introduction
At Turning Point, we support people across the country with substance use. As a Recovery Worker, you'll make a real difference by developing personal, flexible, and realistic support packages to help individuals turn their lives around. Passionate about helping others, you'll enjoy the support and opportunities to enhance your own life as part of a friendly, multidisciplinary team.
We offer a salary of £26,121 to £30,557 per year, dependent on experience.
There are opportunities for career progression through structured learning and clear pathways, enabling you to achieve your long-term goals and work to your strengths. Whether progressing into management or becoming a specialist like an Advanced Substance Use Practitioner, we will support your career development.
Role Responsibilities
Our Oxfordshire Roads to Recovery Service is an integrated community drug and alcohol support service across the county, with Recovery Hubs in Oxford, Banbury, Witney, and Didcot. We work within a supportive multidisciplinary team including Doctors, Nurses, Psychologists, Support Workers, Counsellors, and Peer Mentors to improve service users' well-being.
We seek Recovery Workers skilled in building relationships with service users and collaborating with social services, healthcare providers, mental health teams, probation, and recovery support agencies. Your goal is to engage hard-to-reach groups and support individuals at risk of dropping out of treatment to stay engaged and progress in recovery.
The Ideal Candidate
We are hiring Recovery Workers to join our established team based in Oxfordshire Recovery Hubs. Experience in the substance use sector is preferred but transferable skills are also valued. You should have managed a significant caseload, understand substance use and recovery, and possess excellent communication skills. Flexibility and adaptability are essential for this varied role.
We invest in our staff through training and support, so motivation, ambition, and potential are key qualities we seek.
