We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Management clinical team. Our team covers sites across Secure and Acute services. Although based at Hollins Park, flexibility in working rotas and travel will be required to support the needs of the service.
You will have the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting patient care and assisting with medicines reconciliations and timely discharge processes for patients with complex mental illnesses and learning disabilities. There will be opportunities to assist nursing staff with medicines management, complete audits, and provide training and education. You will work autonomously and within a thriving team to promote and provide a safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical service.
To maintain your competencies and continue developing your skills, there is a requirement to support our dispensary services on a rota basis.

Key Responsibilities:
* Perform medicines reconciliation, including assessing patient own drugs.
* Develop and coordinate medication supply systems to meet patient needs.
* Participate in the safe supply of medication to wards and community teams.
* Perform final accuracy checking of dispensed prescriptions.
* Support the supply of discharge and short-term leave medication at ward level.
* Provide medication information to service users and carers, in conjunction with pharmacists.
* Deliver training to healthcare professionals.
* Complete audits and reports, such as Controlled Drug audits and medication storage audits.
* Educate and train junior technical and ward staff.
A current and valid BTEC accuracy checking qualification is required. The post involves participation in weekend and bank holiday rotas.
