Permanent | Full-time
Salary: £35,000-£45,000
Are you a graduate in the software space ready to help shape the future of next-generation communication technology? Join a global leader in communications at an exciting time of growth and innovation. We’re seeking a Product engineer to join an expanding team, helping define and document the detailed behaviour of complex communication products used worldwide.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a background in electronics, telecommunications, or embedded systems to begin their career in a role that bridges technology, design, and product strategy.
You’ll work at the heart of the product lifecycle - defining how advanced devices behave and ensuring that what’s built truly meets customer needs. You’ll receive full on-the-job training and mentorship from experienced engineers, product managers, and testers.
In this role, you will:
* Translate customer and business requirements into precise product behaviour definitions.
* Write and maintain feature specification documents that guide software and testing teams.
* Work closely with stakeholders across engineering, testing, support, and product management.
* Develop a deep understanding of product functionality and system architecture.
* Become a key knowledge resource for product features and their intended behaviour.
This position will require Security Clearance (SC) in the future.
About You
You’re naturally analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoy understanding how things work. You’re excited by technology - especially communications and embedded systems - and eager to apply your technical education in a real-world environment.
Essential:
* A relevant degree (e.g. Electronics, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or similar).
* Exposure to embedded software development (through modules or personal projects).
* Understanding of digital communications principles (ideally wireless).
* Interest in defining and documenting the behaviour of complex technical products.
* Appreciation of modern connected device technologies (e.g., USB, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS).
Desirable:
* Experience with Android-based systems or mobile device technologies.
* Understanding of how embedded systems and communication devices interact with networks.
