Mechanical Project Manager Location: Greater Manchester / Trafford / Warrington Contract: £400 - £450 per day DOE Expenses (Outside IR35 / Ltd co.) Schedule: Monday to Friday, Days – 6 months initial contract Join a dynamic engineering projects Team Our client is a leading project installations company working with a wide variety of customers across food/pharma/automotive manufacturing sectors. We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead Mechanical project installations for several clients across food/pharma/process sectors. This is an autonomous EPCM projects role, manging full project lifecycle, from initial costing and quotations, through design, installation to commission and handover. You will lead projects from managing all key stakeholders including key customer contract, suppliers and internal teams ensuring timescales are met and mitigating any issues technical and commercials through the project. Key Responsibilities: * Cost, quote and run projects ranging from £50k up to £1m * Manage a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, and Site Supervisors and installation teams to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency * Oversee day-to-day project planning and site operations to support business growth and client satisfaction * Maintain and build strong relationships with key clients, ensuring a high standard of service and repeat business * Take ownership of forecasting, budgeting & cost control along with meeting technical specification and requirements * Installation of capital equipment, process machinery, fabrications, access and support platforms, sheet metal chutes & hoppers, plant lay-outs, and pipework etc. * Drive continuous improvement in project execution, labour utilisation, and resource management What We’re Looking For: * Apprentice-trained in Mechanical Engineering (fabrication) with an HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering * Ideally 10 years of experience in mechanical project & installations management within manufacturing or FMCG environments * In-depth knowledge of mechanical processes, design and installation of machinery, fabrications and sheet metal products * Skilled in leading teams & managing client relationships * Experience integrating and working with and alongside electrical teams * Strong commercial acumen with full understanding of budgeting * SSSTS/SMSTS certification and Project Management training desirable * Flexible to travel - customers sites across the North / M62 corridor etc You’ll Thrive Here If You * Have a passion for engineering excellence and delivering value to clients * Excel in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with shifting priorities * Want to influence growth and innovation * Enjoy driving and championing high-performing teams Apply now or contact us to discuss this opportunity in confidence.
