Overview

QA Auditor – Bakkavor Meals site, Park Royal (Elveden site), London. On-site, permanent, full-time role. Shift pattern: Thursday – Sunday, 5pm–3am. Salary up to £30,000 per annum (including nightshift allowance).

Location: London, United Kingdom. This is a factory environment that produces chilled ready meals, houmous dips, deli products and savoury accompaniments.


Responsibilities

* Audit, monitor, and improve quality systems and procedures; provide technical support to operational teams while maintaining and promoting technical and quality standards in line with business needs and customer requirements, with guidance from the QA Supervisor/Manager.
* Compliance tasks: annual validations of Critical Control Points; allergen validations; packaging intake verification.
* Quality Auditor tasks: monitor environmental and hygiene practices, including post-clean line sign-off, collection of swabs and water samples; perform quality checks and collect finished product and raw materials for microbiological and nutritional testing.
* Conduct daily audits (including GMP, Glass & Plastics audits) and ensure corrective action with the shift manager.
* Conduct internal quality assessment panels (QAS) during the shift and raise issues with the senior key-op/shift manager.
* Calibration and verification of factory equipment; raising and completing factory non-conformances; addressing shift issues and completing QA shift reports.
* Handle complaints and Olympus mismatches investigations as part of quality assurance activities.


About you

* Ideally you will have some professional experience in a technical/QA role within a food environment, but skills can be taught and this is an excellent first role for someone with enthusiasm and drive to develop in quality assurance.
* Understanding of chain of custody in a food environment and experience with small-to-mid sized quality improvement projects (e.g., implementing new procedures and defining supporting documentation).
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
