We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and dedicated professional for an exciting new post within the contracts and conveyancing team in Legal and Democratic Services.
You will be part of a successful and motivated team working in a fast-paced environment and will mainly provide advice and support relating to conveyancing and property work. There will also be a requirement to assist with contracts and procurement work.
You must hold a current Practising Certificate from the Law Society of Scotland, an LL.B and a Diploma in Legal Practice.
Whilst we are seeking a senior solicitor at GR10, we are willing to consider candidates who meet the criteria for appointment to a solicitor role, at GR9, and have the potential to develop to GR10 at a later date.
Requirements for GR9 and GR10 include:
1. Experience in conveyancing and property law and ability to undertake a range of diverse tasks and achieve successful outcomes.
2. Ability to deal with complex legal matters; prioritise a varied workload; work with minimum supervision; and carry out work to a high standard within timescales.
3. Awareness of legislative developments.
4. Research skills.
5. Effective interpersonal and communication, report writing, advocacy and time management skills.
6. Ability to work as a team member as well as on own initiative, and to develop strong links with clients and, when appropriate, with elected members.
Additional requirements for GR10 include:
1. An extended period of post qualifying experience.
2. Experience in drafting, negotiation and advising on contracts.
3. Motivation skills.
4. Supervisory skills.
