Consultant in Haematology (Benign, Haemostasis & Thrombosis)

Position: Consultant Haematologist – Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
Key responsibilities:
* Provide clinical and laboratory haematology services in collaboration with existing consultants. Specific interests in haemostasis and thrombosis, immunohaematology, and benign/classical haematology are expected.
* Participate in the consultative service to other hospital specialties.
* Ensure provision of high-quality haematology laboratory services within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
* Contribute to research activity within the department.
* Engage in teaching, training, audit and managerial responsibilities as appropriate to experience.
Applicant requirements:
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a licence to practise and be eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Candidates with UK‑based higher specialist training leading to CCT or within 6 months of confirmed entry (date of interview) are considered. Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) doctors are only eligible to apply once awarded. Non‑UK doctors must demonstrate equivalent training.
Applicants should possess Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists or equivalent, and Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) or equivalent, and be on the GMC Specialist Register for Haematology or within 6 months of achieving CCT.
