Job Title: Charity Shop Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and organised Charity Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail shop. This role is responsible for maximising sales, managing volunteers, and ensuring the shop provides a welcoming and positive experience for customers while supporting the charitys mission.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day running of the shop, ensuring it is clean, safe, and well-presented
Manage stock donations, including sorting, pricing, and displaying items effectively
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and retail standards
Handle cash, operate the till, and complete daily financial reconciliations
Sales & Performance
Maximise income through effective merchandising and pricing strategies
Monitor sales performance and implement improvements where needed
Organise promotions, seasonal displays, and special sales events
Volunteer Management
Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers
Create staff/volunteer rotas to ensure adequate shop coverage
Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivating team environment
Customer Service
Deliver excellent customer service and ensure a welcoming atmosphere
Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally
Administration
Maintain accurate records of sales, donations, and Gift Aid (if applicable)
Liaise with the charitys head office or regional management
Ensure proper documentation and reporting procedures are followed
Essential Skills & Experience
Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a supervisory role
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to lead and motivate a team, including volunteers
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Basic numeracy and IT skills
Desirable
Experience working or volunteering in the charity sector
Knowledge of visual merchandising
Experience managing stock or donations
