Crude Trader – London
Our client, an international oil company, is looking to hire an experienced Crude Trader based in London. The role combines marketing own equity production with broader third‑party trading across EMEA, collaborating with international offices to optimise global systems and maximise earnings.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage and optimise daily crude trading activities, leveraging company‑owned production and market opportunities to deliver commercial value.
* Trade physical and financial crude positions (spot and term) to balance supply, maximise margins, and enhance system efficiency.
* Identify and capture arbitrage opportunities across regional and global markets, ensuring safe and reliable delivery from company assets.
* Oversee placement of equity crude, coordinating with operations to ensure timely off‑take and alignment with production schedules.
* Negotiate and execute contracts with counterparties, ensuring compliance with company’s commercial, operational, and regulatory standards.
* Monitor trade performance and risk exposure, including price, logistics, etc., and take corrective action where necessary.
* Collaborate closely with scheduling, operations, and risk teams to ensure smooth execution and operational excellence.
* Maintain strong relationships with market participants to stay abreast of trends, pricing developments, and emerging opportunities.
* Analyse market fundamentals, including supply‑demand dynamics, freight and storage considerations, and refinery requirements, to inform trading decisions.
* Communicate trade strategies and operational requirements effectively with internal stakeholders, providing clear updates and actionable insights.
Ideal candidate: 3+ years of crude trading experience, ideally in the Mediterranean or West African markets.
