We are seeking a dedicated and professional Cathedral Constable to join its constabulary team. This is a rare opportunity to work within one of the worlds most iconic sacred spaces, ensuring the safety, security, and dignity of the Cathedral precincts. What you'll be doing
* Assisting members of the public as part of the Ministry of Welcome.
* Providing protection to all residents, staff and visitors to the Cathedral and its precincts within Constabulary training guidelines and operating procedures.
* Follow all relevant protocols in respect of Safeguarding.
* Maintaining good order within the Cathedral and its precincts.
* Working closely with the Kings School Security team.
* Liaising with Kent Police teams with regards to external incidents and issues.
* Maintaining accurate records of incidents in reports, statements and notebooks.
* Communicating effectively in highly emotive and/or conflict situations.
* Monitoring the Cathedral CCTV system.
* The successful candidate will be expected to complete training to become attested and will be fully supported to achieve this. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* The ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
* A respectful and empathetic approach to people from all walks of life.
* Flexible approach to working and open to work at short notice.
