Job Purpose
The Senior Field Sales Engineer is a customer and supplier-facing role responsible for demand creation by leveraging Sanmina's engineering services on designs. The role involves understanding customer needs, partnering with sales teams, and building relationships with customer engineers and suppliers. The engineer must understand supplier technologies and market needs, including vertical segmentation.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement technical sales strategies, presenting new products and technologies to customers.
* Understand customer needs and leverage Sanmina's engineering resources to identify solutions.
* Identify manufacturing opportunities early through customer and supplier relationships.
* Build relationships with technical decision-makers and influencers.
* Support sales by promoting solutions that lead to design wins and sales growth.
* Provide technical sales training and align with sales teams.
* Communicate with suppliers and account managers.
* Participate in sales strategies and business reviews.
* Develop technical plans by supplier line or customer solutions.
* Partner with sales in pre- and post-sales activities.
* Attend supplier trainings.
* Understand supplier technologies and their market relevance.
* Manage expectations and report on activities and initiatives.
Education and Experience:
* Degree in Electrical Engineering.
* 5+ years of technical sales experience.
* Strong understanding of electronics fundamentals and design principles.
* Ability to handle complex designs and challenging customer situations.
* Excellent presentation and communication skills.
* Customer service skills are essential.
* Self-starter with good prioritization, multitasking, and pressure management skills.
* Time management and organizational skills.
* Knowledge of sales activities and techniques is preferred.
* Established relationships with key technology suppliers and large customer engineering teams.
* Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
